The effective use of creative thinking to create change for the better. Entries can be executed in any medium, but must demonstrate how it creates change.
8.Television or cinema
The effective visual realisation of a concept through screen content specifically designed for television or cinema.
9.Creativity for inclusion
The effective use of creative thinking in the service of the inclusive sector. Entries can be executed in any medium, and can include work in the physical or mental disability sectors, anti-discrimination, equality in the workplace, and human rights.
10.Online Video
The effective visual realisation of a concept in video format designed for online.
11.Wild card (Advertising)
Any creative advertising material that does not fit in any other category. Work will be judged on its creative concept and strength of 'outside the box' thinking.
12.Brand Expression – Environmental
The effective design of OOH, signage, way-finding, POS or other environmental assets.
13.Brand Expression – Packaging
The effective design of product packaging – think labels, swing tags, boxes or wrapping.
14.Brand Expression – Publication
The effective design of a brochure, catalogue, book, menu, publication, either physical or digital.
15.Brand ID – New
The effective identity design of a new brand for a business, service, event, or product. Please note that entries must include at least two applications of the brand and an original logo design.
16.Brand ID – Refreshed
The effective refresh of an existing brand for a business, service, event, or product. Please note that entries must include at least two applications of the brand and an example of the brand prior to the refresh.
17.Brand ID – Self-Promotional
The effective identity design of a brand for your own business. Think zero budget, and you're the client.
18.Illustration
The effective visual realisation of a concept through illustration, either hand-generated or digitally drawn.
19.Photography
The effective visual realisation of a concept through still image.
20.Typography
The effective use of typography, either existing fonts or specially created type. Typography can be displayed in any form; digital, printed, signage. Please note that this entry requires a written rationale.
21.Wild Card (Design)
Any design material that does not fit in any other category – think infographics, amazing merch or something else. Work will be judged on its creative concept and strength of 'outside the box' thinking.
22.Digital Animation
The creative use of digital effects for video production. Can include animation, motion graphics, or visual effects.
23.Digital Innovation
The effective and innovative use of emerging technologies, such as VR, AR, NFC, or touch.
24.Sound Design
The effective use of audio for video production. Can include original scores, soundtracks, or audio beds for video production.
25.Website – Corporate / Other
The engaging and creative design of a corporate, B2B or other website, from visual excellence to user experience.
26.Website – E-Commerce
The engaging and creative design of a retail-focused or e-commerce website, from visual excellence to user experience.
27.Website – Government or NFP
The engaging and creative design of a government or not-for-profit website, from visual excellence to user experience.
28.Website – Mobile & Apps
The effective and creative design of a mobile-first website or app.
29.Wild Card (Digital)
Any digital material that does not fit in any other category. Work will be judged on its creative concept, UX and effectiveness.
30.Book (Offset)
The craftsmanship of an offset printed book. Please note that entries with subcontracted components must be indicated on the entry form to be valid.
31.Digital print
Any printed item on any substrate, printed on a digital press. Judged on execution, craft and originality. Process description is to be included in the rationale.
32.Labels
Any printed label on adhesive (printed conventionally or digitally), on any substrate with or without embellishment. Judged on execution and craft. Process description to be included in the rationale.
33.Print Packaging
Any printed packaging item printed offset of digital, with or without embellishment. Box, sleeve, carton, packet, container etc. Judged on innovation of design, printing craft and finishing quality. Any outsourced embellishments are to be highlighted in the rationale, as well as printing, gluing, and finishing process descriptions.
34.Speciality print
Any commercial item, printed by any other process – e.g, letterpress printing, laser etching, textile printing, etc. Any number of colours, substrate or printing method. Judged on execution, craft and originality. Process description to be included in the rationale.
35.Wild Card (Print)
Any creative printed material that does not fit in any other category. Work will be judged on its creative concept and execution.
36.Cut Vinyl
This award comprises signage predominantly made from adhesive vinyls and may include signs on walls, vehicles, banners, shopfronts, stickers, decals and general signage. It will include any design incorporating digital printed graphics and direct lettering. Judged on execution, installation, craft and client brief solutions. Client brief, process description and installation specifics are to be included in the rationale.
37.Fabrication
This award includes 3D fabricated letters or plinth signage in any material – any signate which requires manual fabrication using any combination of componentry manufacture methods (CNC, moulded, welded, 3D print etc) and materials. Judged on craft and manufacturing techniques.
38.Large Format Digital Print
Any printed large format commercial signage. Judged on execution, replication of artwork, installation, craft and client brief solutions. Client brief, process description and installation specifics are to be included in the rationale.
39.Total Building / Shop Fit-Out
This award recognises the skills involved in the design, manufacture and installation of the total signage package of a building or retail outlet. This can include the entire graphics package from shop front to decals and wayfinding signs. Judged on installation, craft and client brief solutions. Client brief, process description and installation specifics are to be included in the rationale.
40.Wild Card (Signage)
Any creative signage that does not fit in any other category. Work will be judged on its creative concept and execution.
Student of the Year
A star student of design, digital, or any other creative industry course. Entrants will be judged on their portfolio of work and an interview with the Judging Panel.
Print Apprentice of the Year
A star apprentice in the printing trade who was in their third or fourth year of training during 2025. Entrants will be judged on their employer’s report, their portfolio of work and an interview with the Judging Panel.
Young Executive of the Year
A young gun account-servicing coordinator, manager or executive in the creative commercial industry. Entrants must be under the age of 35 and will be judged on their employer’s report, their CV, and an interview with the Judging Panel.
Inclusive Work Award
An ambitious person living with disability or neurodiversity who has demonstrated skill and desire to work in the creative commercial industry. Entrants’ folios are to be submitted by teachers, lecturers, or recognised industry organisations in the sector. The award is not limited to students, although a relevant tertiary qualification is required to be eligible.
